Colour Me Your Colour Baby

27/01/2017

Good afternoon you lovely bunch and happy happy Friday! How are we at the third week of the year already?! My god time is flyingggg! We'll be heading into summer before we know it and I am mega excited about that! However I have to admit, I've had a rough couple of weeks, and I've quickly learnt that with a new year comes new challenges and that is simply something I have had to try and wrap my head around, but moving on from that, in a bid to cheer myself up I did the one thing I am truly good at; I shopped, and I shopped hard!

I have tried and I have failed to avoid the straight legged jean craze, throughout 2016 I stuck to my trusty MOM style jeans for quite a lot of my day to days outfits and as skinny jeans are apparently a thing of the past (I mean Vogue even issued a full article on that factor back in Feb 2016; voicing very loudly that 'Rigid' jeans are best!) I thought it was about time I succumbed to the pressures and purchased a pair of straight legged ones - and I'm yet to look back! I'm not sure about you, but jeans seemed to be feeling more stretchy elastic and less, well jean for some time now, don't get me wrong, I love a good skinny jean, I've in fact just recently bought a new pair of black ones, but it does feel nice to have a pair of jeans on that feel structured (that could just be because they are tight, I've gained a fair bit of 'christmas chub' and I don't seem to be able to tell the difference yet) and fitting! I like these jeans because they actually feel like jeans, none of that fake stuff, actual good quality jeans and there is something very retro and dated about a straight legged light wash denim that makes me think of Thelma and Louise and Blondie who wore similar jeans like this whenever she was on stage!

Lets discuss the coat, so I tried and I failed on numerous occasions to tell myself that I didn't need this coat, I even tried as far as convincing myself that I didn't even like it, but the truth was I did in fact like it, in fact I loved it and I definitely needed it in my wardrobe, so imagine how devastated I was when I realised it had sold out almost straight away. Yeah I was pretty damn devastated, but again, I had convinced myself I didn't need it so I nursed my wounds on moved on, until I saw it plastered all over social media and that fire reignited stronger then ever - so basically the moral of the story is, if you can't stop thinking about it, then just buy it, because theres no worse feeling then the guilt that comes with not buying something you really really wanted, trust me I know, and I am beyond thankful that I was able to find one online!

And imagine my utter surprise when I remembered that Blondie practically has the same outfit on as I do in her Call Me music vid? Music and fashion icon.

So I have to admit, I'm not particularly happy with these photos, I seem to have hit that 'weight gain wall', I can see now how much weight I have gained and I don't like it, but I thought I would post it regardless, and instead of beating myself up, work my arse of and feel comfortable again, because that really is the most important thing to me at the minute!
I'll keep you updated.

Ps - Enjoy
