2016: A Round Up
30/12/2016
2016 has been one of those strange ones, not only in the political sense and the whole Brexit issue but on a personal level for me too, now don't get me wrong it's been a pretty damn good year, but another year is over and I am yet to feel any wiser! Alas, I'm sure wisdom will find me eventually, I have however made some memories this year that will be relived through my own history books forever, so as its the last day of the year I thought I would give you all a quick round up of my favourite things about 2016; clothes and accessories included!
Enjoy the 12 photos below, one picture from every month of the year, including some very cute dates I've had with Dominic, our trip to Holland to visit Harrison, the fact that I passed and finally bought my own car, my 21st birthday and that unbelievable trip to NYC! This year has been amazing and I can not wait to see what 2017 has to bring, and what other photos will fill my album!
Looking back on the year I have made so many memories with so many people that I hold dear, especially Dominic, and I have to thank him for continuing to take pictures of me for Instagram and this blog, because without him I simply would have no content to share, and I would also like to thank you for enduring my 'I can't decide' moods and following me around shop after shop, I appreciate it all, I love you, and look forwards to sharing various other weird and wonderful memories with you! Heres to 2017, may you be filled with as many laughs and as many priceless moments and this year has!
On the accessory front you only need to browse the last few images on my Instagram to see all of these items in full force, I have probably used this bag, 99.9% of the time this year and I am not afraid to admit it, I have never before found a bag that I have loved enough to use everyday, no matter what (well that is until Dominic gifted me with Stella, but that's a whole different post entirely), and I am proud to say that bag came in the shape of this beautiful Zara City Chain bag, not only is it the perfect size, it automatically pulls any look together, even if that look is me dragging my feet into uni for a morning lecture.
I love to experiment with clothes and this year has been no exception, but sometimes, I like to strip things back to basics, so this year I filled my wardrobe with items that I guess you can say that I'd fallen out with over the years, but realised I deeply regretted my choice and needed them back; I'm talking about the leather jacket and the best trainers to have ever graced my feet, how I dared to leave these behind until this year is beyond me! The leather jacket is one of those items I've had a love hate relationship with over the years, I've always loved them, but I've often hated how they made me look, until this year that is, I have finally found a couple that I love, and I am not letting them go! As for converse, I now own 6 pairs, and I have no regrets.
I could probably go on and on and on, but this post already looks long enough so I'll call this one a day, and tell you that I appreciate every single one of you for following me throughout this year and reading my ramblings, or engaging with my on Instagram, it all means the world and without you, there would be no point in me posting, so if you continue to read I'll continue to write utter crap, thank you and enjoy your New Year!

One piece of advice I would like to share from this year, grudges are only damaging to you, let them go, move on, and try to be the best person possible, relationships come and go, but let go of them with the dignity and grace that they deserve, they will only hurt you in the long run, and its not worth it, trust me.

The beret is one of those hats that you either love, or you detest, no in-between, I love them more then anything at the minute, to the point of which I now own about 6, extreme I know. And the belt, lets face it, western styled double buckled belts have been everywhere lately and my Topshop one graced several, if not all my outfits back in Summer, so it had to be included in this list! And as for the choker, I doubt that needs any introductions, and I certainly do not need to tell you why I have been loving them this year, because I reckon, you have been wearing them just as much as I have, hail to the 90's.

Black and Gold

You have 4 more days to get on board with the holiday spirit, and I think you should all eagerly accept the challenge! Christmas time really is the most magical time of the year and I can not wait to spend Sunday eating, unwrapping presents and having a jolly good ole time! But before we get to Sunday we have a few days left, which means you may need some Christmas night out outfit inspiration! If you do, look no further then this Christmasy bad ass look! Fishnets, paired with a lace body, an oversized velvet shirt and that bam wam in your face gold metallic skirt, throw in a red beret for good measure and what more could you ask for in a Christmas outfit? And yes it was essentially for me to also throw in some round RayBans - don't judge.
Now we need to discuss this shirt and were I have been keeping it this whole time! The shirt is something I have been sat on now for a month or so, I guess I have been saving it for the perfect time to wear it, and I knew I wanted to save it for the Christmas period and I am so glad that I did because I am soooo impressed with how well it went with the skirt - you know that happy feeling you get when you eat chocolate or ice cream? Well that's the feeling I get when an outfit just works together perfectly! Boom! No effort required, just a simple oversized shirt over a metallic skirt and you have yourself this very strong talking point of an outfit!
The underwear as outerwear trend has been everywhere this year and to be honest I'm not really the type of person to wear anything too revealing and if I do I like to do it very tastefully and feminine! This lace body by H&M does exactly that, and I am so glad I finally found one that I like, I've already worn this particular body suit several times already, it looks perfect paired with a full velvet trouser suit for that little added detail as well as just wearing it under a jumper simply for comfort when I'm been lazy!
I was unable to find the exact links to all the items online, however I have listed similar items below, and that gold skirt is a under £5! Perfect if you ask me!

The Countdown Begins
19/12/2016
Can you actually believe we are 6 days away from Christmas 2016? Where did the time go? And how excited are you all? I simply can not wait, the festive period really is the best time of the year, I mean, with the lights, the music, the over eating and the fact that I need no excuse to wear glitter or sequins, means this season really is my favourite and I am not at all afraid to wear those cheesy christmas jumpers with pride!
Christmas jumpers have made a huge come back in the last few years, and I continue to love them more and more each season! Traditionally only reserved for Christmas day, these bad boys are now very much visible on the town sported by rowdy men in the run up to the festive day as well as on everyone who is anyone throughout the month of December! I have a theme with my Christmas jumpers (plural, because yes I own about 5) they are all very very over the top girly ones, (apart from my new one, which I will be sporting in a later post so stay tuuuned)! This particular one was actually from H&M last year, but I'll be sure to link some similar ones down below!
Pleated midi skirts have been hanging around for sometime now and the festive season has seen them come out in full force, literally, we have glittery ones, metallic ones, long/short ones and not to mention the leather ones. And I have been after one for ages now, I bought a similar one in the summer which was slightly shorter but since seeing them pop up on every major blogger and insta girl I needed to get my hands on another one with a bit more length to it and this red one hit all the right spots! I actually made Dom go into town after he finished University for the day to pick this up, because I was scared that my size would sell out - does that certify crazy? I think so. But am I grateful for that slight craziness that I have, yes, because look at the colour of this skirt, and just look at how perfectly it goes with this jumper - could I be anymore christmasy?! I think not! It's no secret that my go to colour is red, the lipstick I constantly wear and the colour of my hair have almost become my trademark and I will continue to carry this through into the new year!

I tried for a long time to convince myself that actually I didn't need this top, I tried and I failed, because lets be honest it is one of them tops that we all need in our wardrobe and who was I kidding trying to deny myself that simple little bit of happiness? The sports luxe cross sixties trend is something I have been seeing a lot of on Instagram and across other blogs, the sporty trend is one that caught all our attentions in S/S and has continued to stand it's ground well into A/W and do you know what, I'm all for it! And need I actually discuss the sixties?
This outfit, like many of the other outfits I have been sporting lately is a complete cross over of decades, current trends and personal touches to give it that little unique feel, the jeans and the Dr Martens nod towards Mods, the jacket is so oversized and bad boyesque it stands proudly with the grunge inspired trend that we have seen oh so much of this season and the hat, well thats just a vintage staple no matter which way you look at it - and to think, all these items, have so many backgrounds and connotations but put together work wonders, oh clothes, you make my life.
Now I have always wanted Dr Marten boots and literally only tuck the leap this Autumn to buy myself a pair and oh my god I can not believe how much I have been missing out, and I'm somewhat disappointed in myself for not jumping on this quicker, they are easily one of my favourite purchases this year, and I have to say, it has been a good year in relation to clothes buying, but there is just this little somethin' somethin' about them that makes them stand out for me!
They look good with both dresses and jeans and I can wear them in the rain without my feet getting wet, thats a win win for me! For someone who is very rarely seen in flat shoes, unless I'm in a my trusty pair of black converse, these boots are a little different for me but none the less I love them whole heartedly and I'm already on the hunt for my second pair!
So if you've ended up here as a result of procrastinating well done you, because during the past month I should have been writing numerous essays instead of writing blog posts, but if like me, third year is already killing you slowly and you'd rather run in front of a bus then put pen to paper just know, if you don't do the work you won't pass, so get on your jolly way with doing it... *runs in front of bus*!
If you take anything from the few minutes you've spent here with me, take home the fact that you need a pair of docs in your life and you also need a sporty top to compliment the boots, its common knowledge that good things come in twos, or is it 'good things come to those who wait'? Regardless you get my drift...
